Twisted nylon rope is often the strongest and the most cost-efficient when comparing ropes by sizes and weights. It offers both strength and stretch so it's a good choice for applications like slings, net ropes, mooring lines, etc. The elongation of the nylon also makes it ideal for absorbing shock loads because it will stretch, but returns to its original length when not under load. Nylon is also resistant to mold, mildew and rot, as well as most acids, alkalis, petroleum products and marine growth. The twisted construction makes it easy to splice when adding components.
