Stainless steel sleeves can be used with either galvanized or stainless steel wire rope. Stainless steel type 316 is the best choice for marine environments or harsh conditions. To create eye splices, lap splices and in line splices just place the cable through both sides of the sleeve and crimp the sleeve into the cable. Stainless steel requires more pressure than other types of sleeves, so a special swaging tool is required - it is not for hand swaging.
